I've just come to notice that I usually always start my blog posts with either 'okay' or 'so' which is really weird. Anyways, this past Monday I went shopping with a couple of my friends to Chapel street & Burke Street. The day started off really badly because my alarm didn't go off and so I actually woke up when one my friend's called to ask if I had arrived at the station. After rushing to get ready I managed to drop my blazer on the street and I only realised it after 15 minutes of walking, so I had to go all the way back to find it and thank god nobody picked it up. But once we arrived in the city things started to get much better.

We firstly just went to Zara since I was really hoping to find some nice winter clothing and I was SO excited about finally seeing clothes in my size. After trying on about a zillion items, I only picked up two which will probably be included in the next collective haul post. It was almost noon so we stopped by Starbucks and I got myself a 'double choc chip frappucchino' which is probably the most amazing drink ever. If you've never tried this or anything from Starbucks, I personally recommend this. It's just heavenly chocolate-y goodness.

We then took a train to Chapel Street and to be honest, I've actually never been there before so it was my first time there and oh my god at all the stores. I know for sure that I will be going there so often. Okay so we stopped by Topshop just to have a browse at all their clothes and makeup stuff but I only picked up their face wipe things which was something that caught my eye.

Since it had started to rain, we decided to have lunch at TGI Friday's which was also pretty good.

The next stop was probably my most favourite which was at Apex shoes and we finally got to try on the stunning Jeffrey Campbell Litas. They were pretty low on sizes so I couldn't try the style I wanted in my size so the chic just gave me these ones to try on to confirm my size but I can't wait for her text which will tell me when the 'Distressed leather' and 'Spike' ones will be in-stock. I'm not 100% sure if I WILL be purchasing and also which style since they're about $195 in store I don't want to rush into buying them. I would love to know which pair you guys think would be better to purchase. If I do end up choosing the Distressed leather, then I'm just going to wait until I do my online shopping (probably sometime in may) and buy them then.

I saw on Forever New's website their range of winter coats and I really wanted to go and try them on to see what they looked like. We spent about half an hour just trying on pretty much every coat they had in the store and the one I was most looking forward to seeing wasn't actually there but since it was out of my price point I didn't really care. I did leave the store with the 'Lili Double Breasted(?) Coat' in a creamy colour which will again be in my collective haul post.

Our last stop was at the MAC Cosmetics Pro store which had an insane amount of makeup in there. I really wanted to pick up a few things from the 'Naturally Collection' but since I've put myself on a makeup spending ban for the next couple of months I just slowly walked away from the temptation.

Just before catching the train back we went into Ganche Chocolate for some more sugary goodness. The whole store was so tempting but the price simply didn't justify it so I just got a scoop of ice cream and my friends both had a chocolate macaroon.

Well then that's pretty much the end to this super long post and I'll stop boring you guys now. :)

Chocolates and roses

Okay so Valentines Day was yesterday and I was going to write this post earlier but I was too tired from practically doing nothing. :P I ended up staying at home re-watching Merlin's Season 4 finale with my mum but sadly I had Methods tuition at night; how boring. School was also quite uneventful except for the fact that I did receive this beautiful rose (that's almost dead) and a ginormous Toblerone from an Anonymous source and I have yet to find out who it is! But I really do appreciate this and I've already eaten some of the delicious dark chocolate. I'm thinking of drying out this rose so if it works, I can perhaps use it for bedroom decoration or something.

Anyways, how did you guys spend your Valentines day? I'd loveee to hear about what my gorgeous readers have gotten up to. And if you didn't get the Valentines day that you'd have hoped for then don't fret too much, there's always next year and as long as you're able to appreciate the love from your family and friends, then a rose or a gift can't beat that. Be sure to take advantage of the chocolate sales and eat away and become a fatty like me. ;)

Here you can pretty much see a part of my messy room but I'm totally obsessed with that poster wall; but it is not complete as of yet. :P

Urban Decay Naked Palette

So I've been doing quite a bit of makeup shopping but I didn't really feel like posting a haul today. I'm extremely happy that I finally got myself an Urban Decay Naked Palette. I know that pretty much everyone has one of these already; I just didn't feel as though I would be putting it to use as much if I'd bought it earlier. I haven't actually had a chance as of yet to play around with the eyeshadows so I can't really review it, but I'm hoping it wont disappoint.

If only there was a way I could show you guys how excited I was when it arrived at my doorstep. Just imagine me holding my Naked Palette up in the air and Disney's 'circle of life' playing in the background. I guess that was pretty much how it happened. For those of you wondering where I was able to get this, I ordered it online from Beautybay for a little less than $60 including shipping. They also just started selling the Naked 2 Palette so you can go have a browse for that. It took ages to arrive (about 2 and a half weeks) when the website said that it would only take 5-7 days so don't be disappointed if it doesn't arrive quickly. But they package it really well in a somewhat medium sized box that's filled with these packaging bean things.

Anyway, back onto the Naked Palette itself. So it pretty much comes with a flat shader brush and a mini Primer potion. It is pretty shit how they changed the double ended eyeliner pencils to the makeup brush because I personally was really excited about trying those out. Fortunately, the brush is pretty soft and much better than those tiny useless ones that are included in normal makeup kits. Also I'm absolutely in love with the Primer potion. I mean that is something Urban Decay is known for and it's just so good that I don't actually want to use it up. I think that's pretty much all there is to say about the Naked Palette so far, I definitely know that I will be getting the Naked 2 Palette as well but I think I'll probably wait for a couple of months and then get it. I've posted some pictures below so that's it for now and I am working on quite a few other posts, so I'll see you guys soon.

OOTD: Casual Lunch at Nandos

Okay yeah I haven't updated in a while but school studies are kicking in and soon it'll be time to start off the final year of high school which means that I'll be working very hard towards my studies so I probably won't be able to update very often, but we'll see how it goes. :)

Anyways so today I went out for a late lunch at Nandos with a really close friend and his girlfriend and this is pretty much what I wore. I took these pictures when I got back around 6:30ish so the lighting kinda sucked. I ended up doing my hair in a high bun today since it's a pain to deal with long-ish hair in the heat.

I don't know if you were able to see this clearly in the other pictures but this is what the bag looks like. I really like how it's big enough to hold all the junk I carry. I don't know if this is just for me but all my Kate Hill bags start to fall apart really quickly. I mean it's so hard to prevent the bags from this brand from breaking.

So these were the pumps I wore and I'll say it that they were such a pain to walk in because of the thin stiletto, aside from that they were so comfortable that I really enjoyed wearing them. My feet are like pretty wide and very weird because every single time I wear closed shoes, they end up getting blisters; especially with flats. So that's why I prefer to buy better quality shoes so they're like pretty soft and cushioned on the inside. :)

So just to finish off the year, I decided to go shopping with the mother and ended up getting just a couple of good bargains post boxing day. Sorry about the lighting in the following pictures, it's too hot here in Melbourne to go outside to take pictures and my bedroom lighting is just awful.

The first few things I grabbed were these gorgeous L'oreal nail varnishes that were reduced to $5 each (i'm not sure of the full price) which I think is a massive bargain. To top that the 3 bright coloured ones were completely free because the sales lady got it mixed up and thought that they were free with ANY purchase but actually you only get them free when you purchase one of those bright coloured lip glosses. So 6 nail varnishes for 15$ is just wow. Although it would've been better if they had given these colours names instead of just numbers.

Priceline had a few Revlon products for $7 but there wasn't really anything that caught my eye except for this silver eyeliner. I've already tried other colours in this and they're so creamy and easy to apply so I thought i'd grab this silver colour to use in my inner corner for when I do more daring looks or it can also be used as an eyeshadow base since it's so creamy. :)

I needed a set of casual earrings for everyday wear since I don't have my old pair anymore and my ear holes were starting to close up again. I bought these full price but it wasn't anything major.

The set that looks a bit rusty is the one I've been wearing lately and after wearing them into the shower they turned that ugly rusty colour. The previous pair I had was from Equip and I prefer those since they were silver and after wearing them for about a year almost, they still looked as good as new.

Myer was having their own 30% off all gift sets and on boxing day I smelt this one and I really liked it but I wasn't too sure if it was worth buying but when I went back again with my mother, I really had this sudden urge to buy it and she also really liked the scent. The only bad thing was there weren't any 100ml sets left so I could only grab the 50ml one. I'm still kicking myself for not buying it on boxing day since there were like so many 100ml one's left in the city. The gift set included the 50ml EDP, a 125ml body lotion and a 125ml shower gel.

How gorgeous is the packaging of the bottle. I love the detail of everything, I usually tend to go towards perfume's that have those really pretty bottles such as the Miss Dior Cherie.

On NYE I went to my local shopping centre and I didn't plan on buying a pair of shoes but I really needed a pair of comfortable wedges and these looked pretty good and they had my size as well. Also this is like officially my first pair of shoes from Wittner because if I usually like something there either it's too expensive or it's not available in my size.

I had been eyeing this sailor jacket from Portmans since the Chadstone VIP night but to be honest, I wasn't really willing to spend $150 on it. My only hope was to find it on boxing day because ofcourse it was going to go on sale. The size that fit me perfectly (size 6) was out of stock pretty much everywhere so I bought a size 8 instead, it's a tad bit loose but it'll do the job. I'll probably be wearing it in some OOTD's so you'll be able to see what I pair it with:)

So that was pretty much my last shopping trip of 2011 and yeah I can't wait to see all the new trends of 2012. :)

New years resolution

Shit does time fly by fast or what? It's officially 2012 and I swear even when I'm going to be writing dates down this year, I'll forget that it's 2012 and actually end up writing down 2011. But anyways just thought I'd quickly do a post about my new years resolution. Usually I don't end up actually doing this but let's just hope this year is different.

Okay so I really really want to be able to update at least once or twice a week despite the fact that it will be my final year of high school and i'll actually have to DO WELL for my sacs, I will try to make time for you guys. I mean then there's those usual ones such as 'I'll try to do study as much as I can' but yeah we'll have to see how that goes... :)

I really hope 2011 was as great for you as it was for me, and let's kick 2012 off with a bang ;)

DIY jewellery frame

Okay so I thought that i'd do a quick and easy do-it-yourself tutorial.

You only need:

Frame
Sticky tape/masking tape
Scissors
Fabric

I decided to paint the frame using just whatever gold paint I had lying around the house. For an easier application and to prevent chipping, it's better to use sandpaper and just rub that around the areas that you will paint over. You don't need to use super expensive frames for this, I bought mine from the reject store for like $5 or something.

So, you'll want to remove that glass piece that comes with in the frame since it's pretty much useless. Then all you'll have left is the frame itself and the wooden board thing.

With whatever fabric you've chosen (over here i'm using a small piece of black felt), put the wooden board thing on top of it as shown in the image below.

Then using either masking tape or sticky tape, stick it down onto the wooden board.

Once all sides have been stuck down, insert the wooden piece back into the frame. You can see I din't bother painting the back properly as it won't really be seen.

Make sure to pull the side metal pieces down to hold it in place.

This is what it should look like afterwards.

If you want to hang necklaces, use these thumb tacks or even small nails and hammer them into the wooden board after the fabric has been stuck down.

But, I have just chosen to use this frame for hanging my hook earrings similar to the one below.

Carefully just push the hook part of the earring into the fabric so it hangs between the board and the fabric. Make sure NOT to push the hook INTO the board. Try to avoid using thick fabric pieces since it can make it harder to poke the earring hook in.

Then just use the remainder of the jewellery pieces to place onto the frame.

So this is what the one I made looked like. You can use as many frames as you like and display them either on the shelves, or hang them on your walls like photo frames. This is the time where you can show your creativity skills playing around with different types and sizes of frames as well using different jewellery pieces. :)

Boxing day haul

Boxing day this year was such a disappointment. I mean seriously I went so early with my friends and anything that looked decent was only available in like XL sizes. On top of that there were so many people there in the city this year that I was starting to feel really frustrated. But anyways I was still able to grab a few bargains. Although aside from my watch, I didn't get a chance to buy anything from my wishlist :(

Guess had 50% off store-wide so I was able to grab this gorgeous watch that I really wanted. I love everything about this watch, especially the dial although if this was available in a rose gold colour, I would have literally screamed.
Price? $~~395~~ $197

Priceline was having a really good sale but unfortunately the one I went to barely had any stock so the only thing that was left was this revlon lipstick and I couldn't possible turn this up because I honestly love these lipsticks. They are so moisturising and the colours are really wearable and long lasting.

Halfway through the shopping trip my mum rang me to pick up some pj pants for myself and so I went to the one store that has THE BEST ones. I swear 'Bra's N things' has the most comfiest night time clothing ever. I bought 2 pairs of 3/4 pants for myself.

These are the ones I picked up for my mum but I got the wrong size so she has to go and exchange them for something else

I knew I wasn't going to leave boxing day without purchasing SOMETHING from lush but with such a limiting sale, I couldn't really get the products that I wanted. So I purchased these few items but to be honest, I'm not really loving them so much. I feel as though I only bought them because they were on sale but once I try these out a few times, I'll try to post a quick review if anyone is interested.

So just to finish this, the boxing day this year was highly disappointing, not just the shopping trip but the entire day. It was very hyped up and sadly it did not deliver. But hopefully I'll be able to tick off the items on my wishlist soon :)

Review: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector

What they say:
The only 2-in-1 concealer + highlighter to fully cover imperfections while adding a touch of radiance, giving you younger-looking skin instantly.
- Fully conceals: Ultra-coverage pigments with moisturising glycerin provide complete, hydrating coverage.
- Visibly brightens: Light reflecting pearls visibly brighten and add a luminous touch to corner of eyes, cheek and brow bones and bridge of nose or to contour lip.

Okay so before I start reviewing the product itself (which is at the very bottom of the post), here are just a few things I've noticed about it:

- It doesn't have a strong chemical product type of a smell and actually it's not even that noticeable until you actually bring the applicator/wand up close and smell it.

- There is a very limiting number of shades for this product which is quite disappointing to be honest.

- The concealer and the highlighter are 2.7ml each, so they're fairly small

- I'm not very pleased with the packaging especially since the highlighter side of the product always has product that spills out through the sides when I close it which is quite frustrating since a lot of product is then wasted.

It has a brush applicator similar to the ones in lip glosses.

The applicator used for the highlighter is actually the same as a nail polish one

So this is how I usually apply it and then you can see the final result at the bottom:

This is the amount of concealer I generally use and I focus on applying it to the inner parts of my eyes, where they're the darkest.

So here I've applied the highlighter to help 'brighten' up my eyes

So this is the final result after using both sides of the product

So what’s good about this product?	What don’t I like about it?
o The texture of the concealer is very silky and smooth whereas the highlighter is more water based.	o It wasn’t very long lasting. I usually wore it to school and by the time I’d get home, there wouldn’t be any product left.
o It’s very easy to apply and didn’t dry out my skin or give any break outs.	o The bottle is very small and there isn’t much product. After about a month I had to really scrape it out of the little bottle thing.
o You can pretty much always find this on sale at Target and Priceline so I don’t suggest buying it full price because it’s not worth it.	o I was disappointed considering that a lot of people have given it great reviews but it just didn’t cover my under eye circles very well
	o The packaging of the highlighter really was terrible. Every time I’d close the bottle, the highlighter would start leaking from the sides and it was a pain having to clean it all the time and wasting all that product

Would I recommend it?

YeahI guess I would recommend this product but only to those who don’t really havethat bad under eye circles and just need a little bit of coverage. Theconcealer didn’t provide great coverage for me, and the highlighter was too pink touse and it often looked very fake. So just to really finish off this post, I will not be purchasing this product again because it didn't work for me and I also don't think it'll provide a great result for people with much more severe under eye circles.

Okay so after delaying this for so long, I'm officially starting this blog! :)
yay?
well honestly I don't really know what I'm going to be posting here aside from some reviews of skincare/beauty products, hauls and maybe even some outfits of the day? But if you have any requests, feel free to leave a comment and I'll do my best to respond to it :)
Oh and just to quickly finish this post, I'm hoping to update as frequently as I can but there will be some delays due to studies and other boring stuff.
